Severiano "Jun" was with the Foundation for Development Alternatives (FDA) and with the Kasgana-ka Development Center, Inc. (KDCI) He was fully committed in the service of urban poor communities by utilizing his management and entrepreneurial skills in developing credit programs for them. He painstakingly built and designed the financial credit system that brought KDCI to success. Another important institution he helped set up is the Kasagana-ka Mutual Benefit Association, a pioneering micro-insurance organization managed by urban poor mothers themselves. These two institutions have greatly benefited not only urban poor mothers and their families but also their respective communities. But aside from these achievements, Jun has shown his care and concern for the urban poor and how he lived a very simple lifestyle in consonance with the role he played in both organizations.
