The echoes of laughter, the warmth of camaraderie, and the spirit of reunion filled the air as alumni from various M.E. batches gathered once again for a memorable homecoming event in the Wack Wack Golf & Country Club last November 18, 2023. Hosted by M.E. Batch 1998, last year’s The Great CoMEback was a testament to the enduring bonds and shared experiences that define the M.E. community.

The heart of any homecoming lies in honoring the diverse journeys and milestones of its alumni. In 2023, we celebrated the esteemed M.E. batches of 1973, 1983, 1998, and 2013, whose presence illuminated the event with memories spanning decades. From shared campus tales to professional achievements, each batch brought forth a tapestry of stories that were highlighted in videos, reminding us of the rich legacy we collectively uphold.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, alumni spanning from 1969 to 2023 came together, bridging the gaps of time with laughter, nostalgia, and the rekindling of friendships. Amidst the festivities, the Hall of FAME Awards stood as a beacon of recognition, honoring the exemplary contributions of Francis del Val and Minette Navarrete in their respective fields. Their achievements serve as inspirations, illuminating the path for future generations to follow.

The launch of the FAME-Dr. Darwin D. Yu Scholarship Fund was a poignant moment, honoring the legacy of a fellow alum who dedicated years of service to both the university and our degree program. This noble initiative not only preserves Dr. Yu's contributions but also paves the way for aspiring scholars to pursue their dreams, empowered by his enduring legacy of excellence and service.
Art for a Cause
The appearance of the "Faithful and True" sculpture, crafted by the renowned artists Mierro and Nixxio Castrillo, marked a union of art and philanthropy. Symbolizing the unwavering commitment of our community, the sculpture serves as a beacon of hope, with proceeds benefiting the FAME-Dr. Darwin D. Yu Scholarship Fund.
In Memoriam
As we celebrated the living, we also paid heartfelt tributes to the late Dr. Mari-Jo Ruiz and Sir Vic Reventar, esteemed pillars of our degree program whose legacies continue to inspire and guide us. Through touching video tributes, their contributions were immortalized, reminding us of their profound impact on our academic and personal journeys.
As the echoes of The Great CoMEback fade into memory, the bonds forged and the memories shared will continue to resonate within our hearts.
