Bring ME Back Home: A Nostalgic Homecoming Day With FAME

By Ricky Lacson and FAME Communications

November 16, 2024, was a day to remember for the Federation of Ateneo Management Engineers (FAME) as we celebrated not just camaraderie but also the rich legacy and vibrant future of our community. Organized by ME Batch 1999, the "Bring ME Back Home" event took us on a delightful journey back to our cherished days at Ateneo.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

The Rizal Library served as the perfect venue, echoing with nostalgia in every corner. With nostalgic music playing softly in the background, guests were ushered into an ambiance brimming with delightful echoes of the past. Tables adorned with toys and candies reminiscent of our school days instantly transported us to our youthful years. Everywhere you looked, from pop culture trivia to the familiar decor, there was a gentle reminder of our shared history and experiences.

Inspiring Words & Celebrations

Ricky Lacson set the tone for the evening with a warm welcome address, beautifully capturing the essence of honoring our legacy while igniting inspiration for our future endeavors. His words echoed the spirit of FAME—connecting the past with aspirations for tomorrow.

The celebration paid homage to significant batches:

  • Batch '99: Led by Mr. Roy Platon, who highlighted the profound connections we’ve nurtured through decades.
  • Batch '84 and Batch '74: Particularly heartwarming was Batch '74's collaborative video showcasing photographs from their college days—a touching tribute to enduring friendships.

Highlights That Shone Brightly

As the evening unfolded, several key highlights stood out:

  1. Business Forum: A pioneering session themed "Business Outlook for 2025," sat a panel of top talents from Batch 99 who shared insights from sectors such as finance, retail, and healthcare, sparking insightful discussions about the future.
  2. Hall of FAME: The prestigious awards were presented to Benel Dela Paz Lagua from ME '77 and our youngest awardee, Sam Christopher Lim from ME '03, celebrating their notable contributions within and beyond our community.
  3. Interactive Entertainment: Hosted by the dynamic duo Marjorie Chan (2013) and Eirene Aguila (1999), the evening was filled with engaging games centered around pop culture. Attendees relished this entertaining blend of fun and nostalgia.
  4. Ceremonial Handover: Marking a tradition of continuity, Batch 1999 passed the ceremonial baton to Batch 2000, symbolizing the timeless flow of fellowship and leadership within FAME.
