The Year of the Dragon signals luck, wealth, and power with opportunities for growth and renewal, according to Eightify. But to deepen this message, we reached out to one of our own, who started his year quite strong, to talk about his latest venture and share his very own Fearless Forecast for the year ahead. Without further ado, let’s hear it from Ryan Tan of ME Batch 2013.
Tell us about Heyday. What inspired you to pursue it?
Before we decided to get into health and wellness retail, we did two things. First, we studied data, then we talked to a lot of people. We discovered that an overwhelming majority of Filipinos acknowledge that they are not living healthy lives. And almost all of them who said this claims to lack knowledge on how to be healthier. Knowing this gave us a strong purpose. Building Heyday is an attempt to inspire Filipinos to live a life of wellness. From vitamins, minerals, supplements, to organic produce, Heyday is a superstore for all things health and wellness.
What is your Fearless Forecast for the Year of the Dragon?
We are optimistic that we are catering to a real gap in the market as we try to make health and wellness more accessible. For 2024, I am positive about good things happening. Inflation is now under control and the interest rates are going down, encouraging more spending and consumption.
What advice can you give to other entrepreneurs in our community?
Always remember that every business exists to solve the world’s problems. Us entrepreneurs are problem solvers.
